"Yo fuck you Kanye first and foremost for making me do this shit."
This is goodbye to TimesKanye. I got the idea for this blog while touring the halls of the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C. While faced with depictions of my country's history, I kept calling myself back to the moments Kanye got things just right, and then the other times when he was shockingly, radically wrong. I think this journey started as a way to deconstruct some of the harm I felt Kanye was doing in public, a way of helping myself deal with the cognitive dissonance brought on by listening to Pablo in the face of all his bullshit. I'm done doing that. He doesn't need any more attention and his words don't need any more framing, at least from me. All he needs is help, and I really hope he gets that. I'll leave this site up, because I'm proud of some of these pieces, and if anyone can enjoy them as I've enjoyed sharing them, that'll be worth it. I don't like to think of this blog as an exercise in fandom, but I think it would be naive to say that a fascination with Kanye was not a part of this project. I'm ready to hop off that Bandwagon.
I'll start consuming some other media and wait for the little West to grow up and become our new North Star.
